THE GOOD MEN
the good men live in the caves
and the caves want to come back down to the city
and become model caves, yeah, yeah, yeah.
the good men write books on the walls of the caves
and those walls want to come back down and
become the walls of the palace.
the palace is bored.
no man or woman can truly claim to be king and queen.
the good women are cleaning up the good men in the caves.
the good men are too busy being good to clean up themselves.
the good women are singing.
the walls of the palace are tired of keeping people out.
they want to sing too with the good women who clean
up their good men in the caves.
no man or woman can truly claim to be all that good.
a little bit of non good is all too human, baby,
the songwriter claims, standing on top of the largest
cave.
listen to the songwriter claim things.
there is a rhythm somewhere,
and that rhythm knows who you are,
and that rhythm knows you to be a good man and woman,
so come on out of the cave,
the palace is waiting for you
to sing to it.
